In his twitter message, Karan Johar confirmed a rumor that Katrina Kaif is going to do another hot item dance in Agneepath.

Katrina kaif is doing a full on item song in AGNEEPATH….its a total swinging number called CHIKNI CHAMELI….we shoot it in a week!!.

A remake of a 1990 movie by the same name, ‘Agneepath’ is being directed by Karan Johar’s former assistant, Karan Malhotra. The 1990′s original movie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi, and Danny Dengzongpa was directed by Mukul Anand and produced by Karan Johar’s father Yash Johar.

The new ‘Agneepath’ scheduled to be released on January 26, 2012 stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in leading roles. Actors Rishi Kapoor with Sanjay Dutt also have special roles in the movie.

Comedy Hindi-Urdu play, Bade Miyan Deewane, was recently organized on (Aug 13) at Experimental Theatre, NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai, India.

The play made on Janab Shaukat Thanvi Sahab novel Budbhas in which, the father and son fell in love with the same woman.

The play included witty one-liners, mujra and poetry.

Kathak is one of the eight forms of Indian classical dances. Kathak originated from North India. The word Kathak is derived from the Sanskrit word katha or story. In Sanskrit, katthaka means a person who tells a story. In the ancient times, people recited or sang stories from epics and mythology with some elements of dance. Such a tradition has transformed to the modern day Kathak.

Kathak dance declined during the rule of the British Empire. But, it has regained its popularity these days. Kathak is popular for it’s expressive progression in tempo from slow to fast, ending with a dramatic climax.

Three major schools (gharanas) of Kathak are:

Jaipur (born in the courts of the Kachwaha Rajput kings)
Lucknow (born in the courts of the Nawab of Oudh)
Benares (born in Varanasi)

An actress of Indian origin, popularly known as Sunny Leone, has made big in the international adult film industry. In most of the actresses’ case, finding photos of actress without cloth is a rare case. But in Sunny Leone’s case, opposite is true. Sunny is mostly seen without clothes and seeing her fully dressed might in itself be rare.

Mujra Dancers – demand of white skinned dancer increasing

The demand of foreign Mujra dancers in parties has challenged the local artists in Delhi and other Indian cities.

Previously Mujra used to be considered a form of art but today, these dancers are associated to prostitution. The term ‘tawaif’ (courtesans) has converted itself and became synonymous with sex workers and the dance rooms ‘kothas’ have been associated with brothels.

Previously Mujra used to be performed on ‘thumris’, ghazals or poems of Ghalib. But, thime has changed now and today it is performed to Bollywood dance numbers. The dance Rekha did in the movie ‘Umrao Jaan’ and Meena Kumari in ‘Pakeezah,’ are no longer danced in reality.

Footwork used to be emphasized in the original mujra dances. Now the emphasis has shifted towards more on more prominent body parts.

Although the demand of Mujra dancers is in increasing trend, there is no demand for Indian dancers. The demand for blonde European women has gone up and white women are preferred to the local talents.

In the short term, such a trend seem doesn’t seem good for the local artists. However, in the long term, it will help industry to be more competitive and established with good future potential. The local artists will also be more devoted to developing skills to compete with the foreigners. No foreigners will be able to excel in Mujra when compared to the local talent – carried over from generations. When the local artists make themselves much more competitive – skin color will not be the only metrics the people will use when mujra performance is concerned.
